Ms. Henderson is a new yearbook sponsor and English teacher at Wilde Lake this year.
Though she’s new to Wilde Lake, she’s not new to teaching. She was a teacher for one year at Oakland Mills before she came here.
She decided to become an English teacher because reading and writing have always been an important part of her life.
“Ever since I was little I’ve loved reading,” says Ms. Henderson, “I’ve always known that I’ve wanted to be an English teacher.”
She’s known that she’s wanted to be a teacher for a while. “[I] wouldn’t have pictured myself at Wilde Lake but I enjoy it here.”
Before she became a teacher, she was in publishing.
“Publishing was a really interesting job, and I got to learn a lot about the process of publishing literature,” said Ms. Henderson.
Ms. Henderson hopes that her yearbook and English classes improve their understanding about the subject and that “they will turn into good critical readers and writers,” said Ms. Henderson.
