Career and Technology Students Welcome Brian Henderson to Wilde Lake

Career and Technology Students Welcome Brian Henderson to Wilde Lake

Brian Henderson is currently the new career and technology department teacher and assistant varsity football coach here at Wilde Lake.

Mr. Henderson currently teaches PLTW Digital Electronics, AP Computer Science, Exploring Computer Science, and AP Computer Science Principles.

In July,  Mr. Henderson became a full teacher and coach here at Wilde Lake.

“I am adjusting great. I was a football coach here last year so I was familiar with the school, administration, teachers and a lot of the students.” said Mr. Henderson.

Mr. Henderson attended and graduated with a B.S degree from Penn State University and a Master’s degree from John Hopkins University. He also has a graduate certificate in Leadership Development from John Hopkins University.

Mr. Henderson’s previous career before teaching was being an electrical engineer for the Department of Defense. He also volunteered as a football coach near his job and loved working with those kids.

“What inspired me to become a teacher is that I loved working with kids, but what I enjoyed more was helping kids reach academic achievements and showing students ways of being successful in math, science and engineering courses,” said Mr. Henderson.

Mr. Henderson will also be one of the wrestling coaches this year.
